Welcome to Golden Heart Therapy

Counselling, Art Psychotherapy & EFT in Bracknell and Online

You’re doing everything you can, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, or burnt out. Maybe you feel trapped in unhelpful cycles or weighed down by past experiences. Or perhaps you’re a parent watching your teenager struggle and not sure how to help. Deep down, you know something needs to change, but you just don’t know what.

I want you to know that you don’t have to carry this alone.

I’m Caitlin, a trauma-informed psychotherapist and EFT practitioner based in Bracknell, Berkshire. With nearly 15 years’ experience supporting people through some of life’s hardest seasons, I offer a holistic and creative approach to mental health. My work combines counselling, art psychotherapy, and somatic practices like EFT (tapping) to help you feel calmer, more resilient, and more connected to yourself. Every session is tailored to your unique needs. Learn more about me and my approach here.

Why Choose Golden Heart Therapy

    • Nearly 15 years’ clinical experience across the UK and internationally

    • 8 years in Tier 4 CAMHS, supporting young people and families with the most complex mental health challenges, including eating disorders, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.

    • Warm, non-judgmental, trauma-informed care rooted in safety and trust

    • Specialist support for women and adolescents – not a generic “one-size-fits-all” service

    • Creative, holistic approach combining talk therapy, art therapy, and EFT

    • Flexible options: in-person sessions in Bracknell, or online therapy across the UK

I don’t just offer counselling. I bring together evidence-based therapies with creativity and compassion, so you feel supported in a way that’s as individual as you are.

How I Can Support You

I offer therapy for both women and adolescents, as well as birth debrief sessions and workshops. Each service has its own page where you can learn more:

Women's Mental Health: Specialist support with anxiety, burnout, perinatal experiences, and trauma. Together we explore boundaries, identity, resilience, and self-compassion.

Adolescent Mental Health: Specialist therapy for teens experiencing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm, emotional dysregulation, and school-related trauma.

Birth Trauma Debriefs: A safe, compassionate space to process and heal from birth experiences. It’s never too late for a debrief, and many parents find it especially helpful when preparing for a future birth.

Women's Circle Workshops: Group sessions to connect with others, learn practical tools to manage stress, and rediscover your own identity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to make art in your sessions?

Absolutely not! I personally believe art making can enhance the therapeutic process, but how we spend the session is entirely up to you. Some days you might choose to create art, some days you might choose to just talk. My sessions are catered to your needs at the time of our session.

Isn't Art Psychotherapy just for children?

Humans are innately creative. As children in school, we learn there is a "right" or "wrong" way of doing art. As a result, many of us believe we are "bad" at art so we stop creating. Tapping into our creative side provides a variety of psychological benefits including reduced stressed and improved mood. Additionall, Art Psychotherapy provides teens and adults a non-verbal mode of expression, allowing for the exploration and understanding of emotions that might be too confusing or too difficult to articulate with words alone.

Do I need to be good at Art to do Art Psychotherapy sessions?

NO! You just need to have an open mind and an enjoyment for creativity. I am not an art teacher and these are not art lessons. My aim is to support you in using imagery to express your inner world. The less you worry about the "product" the more you can benefit from the "process."

Is EFT effective for anxiety?

Yes, EFT has been shown to be effective for treating anxiety. It helps to balance the body’s energy system and alleviate psychological stress and physical tension.

When should I schedule a birth debrief

I recommend booking in for a birth debrief anytime from 3 months post partum. Those first few months are about survival mode so please just focus on you and your baby. As you emerge from the 4th trimester, you might still have some very intense feelings and memories from your birth. It is never too late to book a birth debrief and these services can be valuable to women 10, 15, even 20yrs after the event
